This figure displays the uphill battle of human development pushing against the forces of natural oppostion. In Greek mythology, King Sisyphus was sentences by the Gods to repeat this act day in and day out for all eternity. Like Sisyphus, we may each face an uphill challenge at some time that can overcome us if we fail.
